About TidyCoats
TidyCoats is an independent UK directory of dog and cat groomers. We help owners compare local salons and mobile groomers — their ratings, services and contact details — and enquire directly, with no account and no middleman. This page explains where our information comes from and how we keep it honest.
Where our data comes from
Groomer names, locations, contact details and opening hours come from public business listings, primarily Google's Places data. We list grooming businesses across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. We don't charge groomers to appear, and ranking is never for sale.
How we use ratings
Star ratings and review counts are aggregated from Google and shown with attribution. We refresh them regularly so they stay current. We do not copy, store or republish the text of anyone's Google reviews — only the aggregate score and the number of reviews.
How we decide what to show
Groomers are listed rating-first, with mobile availability, cat grooming and other services shown up front. We only publish a place page when we can show at least three groomers, and we filter out businesses that aren't grooming services. That filtering isn't perfect — if something looks wrong, please tell us (below) and we'll fix it.
Our guides and prices
Our breed grooming guides and price information are written and maintained by us. Price ranges are indicative, to help you know what to expect — the groomer you contact will give you an accurate quote for your dog or cat.
How enquiries work
Every listing shows the groomer's own phone number and website — we never hide them. You can call or visit their site directly, or send an enquiry through us, which we pass to the groomer with the details you choose to share. There's no account to create, and your enquiry goes to the groomer, not to a call centre.
Correct or remove a listing
Are you a groomer, or spotted a mistake? Email contact@tidycoats.co.uk to correct your details, add services, or ask to be removed, and we'll sort it. We treat any personal details in enquiries in line with UK data-protection rules and only keep them as long as needed to pass the enquiry on.
